Skin Parade: The Book
Over the last 5 years, I have developed a new opinion on what I see in a nude photo. Moving away from wanting to be titillated by the never-disappointing naked body; to appreciating the female as a perfect canvas for expression.
Before this epiphany, I felt that photographing the female form was a bigger undertaking than I was prepared for. My experiences with commercial models did not lead me to feel that this transition would be smooth; but then I met Her. From after one commercial project and one conversation after, She became muse and centerpiece for all of my early concepts. She gave me the strength, and confidence in my growing body of work to venture out of my shell and become more public with my work and ideas. This book is my thank you to Her. Thank you Tierra.
My goal in showing this collection of art nudes is to provoke thought and compel you to look further than the standard nude image and even the standard nude model. As beauty is relative and has no real definition, I choose not to attempt to define it here; simply interpret it. This book of work serves as an end-product of collaborations with those who were willing to trust my vision and step over the line from conventional to abstract; from sensible to crazy. A “skin parade” it is not. Well, not just that…
Best wishes,
